Skin Types, Skin Care, and Mary Kay

Happy Friday, everyone! Today I’d like to discuss some skin care information that I think will be helpful to us all. Mary Kay has long had a focus on providing excellent skin care to our customer base through innovative and useful products.

Pretty Clear Skin
There are five basic skin types that women will generally have. Let’s go over these different types of skin and how to best take good care of them:

1-      Oily skin. Oily skin is usually found in younger women, though it can certainly be found in nay age range. Simply put, people with oily skin have their bodies naturally produce a lot of it. To treat oily skin, a gentle scrub and oil free moisturizers is highly recommended.
2-      Dry skin. This condition can either be genetic or a product of environment. For example, a lot of women here in Utah have dry skin because there is so little moisture in the air. Heavy cleansers combined with moisturizers are a good treatment option.
3-      Combination skin. This is where most women will naturally fall with the categories. There are many combinations, but this is generally characterized by a drier face combined with an oily T Zone. Treat it in a case by case basis.
4-      Sensitive skin. This is defined by thin and delicate skin and pores that are quite reactive to touch. Use mild products whenever possible.
5-      Sun damaged skin. This is common among women who like to tan, and moisturizers and heavy creams are recommended for treatment.

If you are able to identify skin type, then you will be able to better focus your skin care efforts. There are several great Mary Kay products that you can both use and suggest to others in order to customize the skin care.

If you need help figuring out what your skin type is and/or how to treat it most effectively, don’t hesitate to contact me. Keeping your skin healthy is better than just covering it up!
