Observe and Serve in Your Own Way

Hi everyone! Now that fall is here in full force and the holidays are around the corner, I’d like to focus on serving others today. There are a lot of ways that we can help out that make a difference- both with Mary Kay products and services and with our own more personal means.

If you want to use Mary Kay to serve others, consider using product and your skills to give friends and family makeovers, advise them on their skin, or teach them how to quickly do makeup that looks great for the entire day. These are little things, but I promise that the important people in life will appreciate them.

We also can do our parts for our families and communities by performing little acts of kindness, like raking leaves or baking some treats to take to a neighbor. Some of the most satisfying experiences that I have had involve kind acts of service for others, especially when they don’t expect it!

Service is important! I highly encourage everyone to find the things that they can do in their own communities to make a difference. We’ve all had times in life where we appreciated the gestures made by others, so would I think it’s important to do the same for others.

One of the best resources for serious volunteers is the United Way. These amazing people have a lot of service opportunities that they need people for, both temporary and agency based. I am proud to support their efforts.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Who Wants to Work With Me??

Over the last month, we’ve seen a definite dip our team’s progress. We’re not being as ambitious or on-task as we have been in the past. But I know something, and I hope you know it, too:  We have such potential to succeed!

Ladies, we can do better!! You are phenomenal—each one of you. You wouldn’t be a part of this team if you weren’t. I know we are all putting in work in some way—just this morning I was at Costco Warm Chattering with one of our unit members. But we need to be better as a team.

I want you to succeed. I am willing to train you and put in the effort for us to make this work. Please attend our unit meetings! They can be such a blessing in your life and your career. We only grow as much as we put forth effort, and unit meetings are a great way for us to strengthen our weaknesses and encourage each other!

I know success is possible. It takes hard work though. In the last month and a half I have pulled in 50 new clients even spending half of that time on vacation. That’s not just experience talking. You are talented; you can do this, too!

If you let it, Mary Kay can help you do great things, reach your goals (personal and professional), and learn a lot about yourself. Please don’t pass up this opportunity!

Broadening Your Sales Base

Hi everyone! I’d like to take a minute today to talk about how we can do better with sales.Sometimes it can be difficult to meet new contacts and make old contacts into customers. The difference between success and failure can all come down to being friendly.

The fascinating thing about making sales is that there are no guarantees, so we have to adapt to sell. Here are some of the best things you can do in order to improve on your sales that I have learned in my time at this job!

1-      First of all, be very clear and confident when introducing yourself and getting people’s names. Make an effort to remember theirs! People connect better when there is some aspect of familiarity.
2-      Go to places where people are going to be! Going to the bank or grocery store or salon allows you to find people who might be interested in our products. Strike up a conversation, and show real interest.
3-      A compliment goes a long way- as long as it is sincere. People are generally very good at immediately knowing whether we are being sincere or not, so give real compliments.
4-      Look for wedding and anniversary announcements in the newspaper. If they have a number listed, try calling them to congratulate them and ask them whether the bride has all of her beauty product needs being met.
5-      People like free things. I like to start by asking potential customers whether I can offer them a free facial. It is nice, it is genuine, and it gets your foot in the door.
6-      Last of all- have a good attitude. People can feel when you are in a bad mood, so always strive to be positive and engaged with clients. You will notice results!

These are just some of the things you can do. Just remember- a lot of the skills for sales develop with experience, and that every person has talents and quirks that they can use to get results. I strongly suggest that you identify your talents, and then work on strengthening them.

Everyone’s situation is different. What opportunities do you see in your community to broaden your network?
